Happy National Nail Tech Day!

Here it is, that special day when the world celebrates us! And rightly so, but what does

National Nail Tech Day really mean to us and how should we make the most of it?

Nail techs often work long hours, with no breaks, have an exhausting Christmas and are answering client messages 24/7, skipping lunch breaks to fit in repairs and generally being absolute heroes to their clients.

There are plenty of benefits, we LOVE our job and our clients, and often build strong connections with those clients.

It's great to celebrate Nail Techs and their joy for nails from time to time, and their fabulous work ethic and industry achievements.

For me, National Nail Tech Day started with a tag in a lovely post that took me down memory lane with a host of pics and memories. That led me to flick through some of my own pics and brought me a very bright start to my day that was full of nails, fun and happy times. ( I've got that fuzzy feeling, can you tell?)

What am I celebrating today?

Working with some amazing Nail Techs and teams over my 30 year plus career, introducing hundreds ( maybe thousands would be more accurate) of new Nail Techs to the industry and new techniques, my connections around the world and beautiful colleagues, my salon team of super stars and some fabulous, fabulous clients who all have a special place in my heart, and of course, with a family of Nail Techs I celebrate my talented daughters and the amazing nails they create.

What should we each do to celebrate? Share memories, remind yourself why you love it, wish fellow Nail Techs a happy day, and share some love with them, your clients, colleagues, students...

What else? Encourage consumers to book an appointment, to go see one of these fantastic Nail Techs and better still, give yourself a treat, when was the last time someone else did you a treatment, so book in with a local Nail Tech today and give yourself a long overdue pat on your back and treat!

One last thing you can do for yourself today? Keep learning, don't stop, if you don't book yourself a treatment then book yourself a class. Keep your passion and skills alive and keep pushing yourself to be your best Nail Tech self.
